Our maritime and shipping statistics are of two kinds. Firstly, we provide general data within the areas of sea passengers, seafarers, freight shipping and shipping fleet statistics such as data on the size of the Åland merchant fleet in terms of numbers of vessels, gross tonnage and country of registration.

Secondly, we provide indicators on international shipping market conditions. This section entails various kinds of statistics produced from a combination of sources. Since these statistics are derived from various sources, partly commercial ones, they are not considered to be National Statistics, although we consider them to be of good quality. These statistics are updated annually.
